Maintaining a strong chassis, spacious operator compartment, high ground clearance and large pneumatic tyres, the EFL30 keeps the major advantages of a gas & diesel truck to cater to harsher working environments, suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications.
Marsland Timber switched to a Lithium EFL30 Counterbalance with 22 KW Li-on battery to meet the demands of their two shift operation.
At first, Marsland Timber & Building Suppliers thought a Lithium electric forklift would not meet the demands of their timber yard. Known for high acceleration, great lift speeds and optimal sturdiness, Marsland Timber thought diesel power was the only option for their challenging application. But they full well knew, their diesel forklifts came with a heap of issues. The emissions produced from one diesel forklift exceeds that of 25 cars, indoor usage of these diesel forklifts became highly concerning for managers & operatives alike; health, safety and environmental considerations became highlighted.
As well as fuel storage costs, another concern underlined was the red diesel ban. From April 2022, many businesses will be forced to pay the pump prices for white diesel, which could be up to 300% more than their existing fuel costs. The move is to encourage users to switch to more sustainable fuels, the more expensive diesel is, the greater motivation to change. Like most UK businesses, Marsland Timber would not be exempt from the red diesel ban, forced to confront the fuel price hike set to financially disrupt thousands of UK businesses.
Other worries began to arise during the reign of their diesel forklift fleet. Other safety concerns such as noisy engines meant that operators couldn’t hear each other. Maintenance costs began to stack up, then tier 5 engine regulations came into play, causing a 30% price increase when purchasing new diesel forklift trucks.
With these factors in mind, Marsland Timber attempted to seek out a new fuel source that would prosper in their timber yard, without the downsides of fossil fuels. We introduced them to the Lithium EFL30 counterbalance. Combining the advantages of a diesel forktruck with the benefits of Li-ion battery to create the first Lithium forklift truck suitable for tough working environments.
Maintaining a strong chassis, spacious operator compartment, high ground clearance and large pneumatic tyres, the EFL30 keeps the major advantages of a gas & diesel truck to cater to harsher working environments, suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. But instead of being powered by traditional internal combustion engine, the EFL30 power train has been replaced by a cleaner, greener Lithium battery with super-fast charger. By switching to Lithium, this means that the EFL30 benefits from vastly reduced maintenance costs, zero emissions & almost noise free running.
Marsland Timber decided to replace their diesel fleet, choosing the Lithium EFL30. The entire engine, drive train, cooling system & exhaust switched out for an energy efficient Lithium battery.
The integration of a superfast charger means that the EFL30 benefits from massively extended running time, the likes of which has not been seen in the industry until now, increasing productivity & efficiency, with the ability to charge to 80% in just 2 hours. This EFL30 supports opportunity charging which means it can be charged at any moment of inactivity, including lunch & tea breaks, without disrupting working schedules. Think of charging the EFL30 like you would your mobile phone, when it’s not in use, put it on charge to get the very best out of the latest technology incorporated in the EFL30.
