Naylor's Timber are one of the leading recyclers of wooden pallets in the country, which means sustainability is a high priority for this business. When their fleet came up for renewal, they were in search for a new power source that would improve their environmental credentials and withstand their tough outdoor working environment. A timber merchant, as you may expect, is made up of uneven terrain, dirt tracks and sawdust. We presented the Lithium CPD20L1S Counterbalance for their timber yard, as we knew this was the ideal forklift truck to handle these conditions.

Initially, Naylor’s Timber were apprehensive about the switch due to the conditions that the forklift trucks would be exposed too but they certainly underestimated Lithium power! Before Lithium, Naylor’s Timber had a full fleet of diesel forklift trucks that started costing them thousands £’s in fuel, maintenance and breakdown costs. In light of the red diesel ban, which comes into place 22nd April 2022, Naylor’s decided to ditch the diesel to avoid the 300% increase in fuel costs.
The Lithium CPD20L1S is the high powered “S” variation which is brand new to the L1 range, designed to perform excellently in tough outdoor conditions. The CPD20L1S comes standard with state of the art AC motors which allows for even higher performance. This versatile machine performs excellently in outdoor environments, even when exposed to wet, dirt and dust, the CPD20L1S can handle it. The Lithium CPD20L1 counterbalance comes standard with high density Lithium iron phosphate battery (LFP), which is relatively small and light compared to other traditional power sources such as chunky lead-acid batteries and large diesel engines. This offers large leg room and excellent ergonomics, designed to prevent undue stress on the operator. With a cleverly designed chassis, the Lithium CPD20L1 is fitted with counterweight to ensure stability on uneven terrain and when handling heavy loads.
Proving excellent safety features, its compact size means it can be used to manoeuvre between small aisles inside a warehouse while also performing excellently even in the toughest outdoor applications. Benefitting from opportunity charging, superfast charger & zero maintenance battery, the Lithium CPD20L1S counterbalance is the perfect replacement for any diesel/ IC truck. Improving machine uptime, the CPD20L1S can be charged up to 80% in 2 hours. Much like the entire range, the Lithium CPD20L1S likes to be opportunity charged, this offers a unique way to work your shifts and reduce the overall Ah carried around in the truck.
